No Man’s Sky Cosmos: what 7.05 changes, and where
The September space-building update and today’s fixes are different layers of the story. Your platform belongs in the comparison.

As of 30 September 2026. Returning to a game after a major update can mean reading two stories at once: what was added, and what has been repaired since. No Man’s Sky’s September Cosmos release makes that distinction especially useful. Today’s 7.05 notes also carry a platform qualification worth reading before the feature list.
Cosmos changes what space is for
Hello Games’ 9 September announcement identifies Cosmos as update 7.0. It describes a star map for finding points of interest, salvageable space hulks, orbital base construction, station ownership and player alliances. These are the developer’s descriptions of the new systems.
A useful way to organize that list is by what you want to do: explore, recover materials, build or cooperate. You need not treat every announced activity as a prerequisite for the others. Start with the question that brought you back to the game, then find the relevant official explanation.
The newest number is not automatically on every machine
The 7.05 post dated 30 September says its fixes are live on Steam, with other platforms to follow. The current release log places 7.05 at the top and marks that entry PC. This article does not convert that wording into a claim that every console already has the patch.
The broader Cosmos announcement and a later patch’s rollout statement answer different questions. Before comparing your experience with a fix, record your platform and installed version. Read the current note again if you are checking after this article’s as-of date.
Match a fix to its specific symptom
Among the documented 7.05 changes are a Beacon expedition-milestone problem involving manually upgraded buildings, solar panels working incorrectly in space bases, and an inability to move the Deep-Space Base Computer after placement.
Those descriptions are more useful than the general phrase “building fixes.” A note about one object, action or milestone does not establish that every superficially similar problem has disappeared. We have not reproduced the bugs or tested the fixes.
Keep three lines in your update notes
- Feature: what activity or system am I trying to understand?
- Fix: does the documented symptom match the object and action involved?
- Platform: does the release statement apply to the version actually installed?
This approach leaves room for uncertainty without making the release notes useless. You can identify a promising fix while being clear that it is still a publisher claim, or that its rollout has not yet reached your platform.
For a related distinction between stable releases and test channels, read our SteamOS update guide. No performance result or hands-on recommendation is implied by either comparison.
